50 tawaafs in a lifetime

Fatwaa ID: 395

Question:
AsalamuAlaykum Wrwbtu

Nabee SalallahuAlayhiWaSallam states “Whomsoever makes 50 Tawafs of the Kaaba (ie. fifty by seven rounds), will be free of all his sins, just as the day his mother gave birth to him. Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 866.
Does the 50 Tawaafs mentioned include Umrah Tawaafs also?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The fifty tawaafs are inclusive of one’s ‘umrah tawaafs. Any tawaaf one performs in his lifetime will be included in this.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
