Question:
Asalaam alaikum wa rehmatullah wa barakatuhu, we will be keeping 9th DhulHijjah fast tomorrow as that is the Islamic date where we live. We will reach Pakistan in the morning of 9th Dhul Hijjah, so are we to keep its fast again?
9th DhulHijjah according to Pakistan’s Islamic date* the next day.
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
The place one is in will be considered. You may observe fasts and increase your ‘ibaadah on both days. Allaah Ta’aala is Ever-Merciful and Generous. It is hoped that you will be rewarded for both days. You are fortunate. Take advantage of this chance.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
