Question:
When saying Salam in the prayer is there any fault in saying the full Salam as in
Or should we stop after
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
According to the Hanafi legal school, it is makrooh to add وبركاته in the salaam when terminating the salaah. One should stop at ورحمة الله. However, it should be noted that it is permissible according to some of the other legal schools in the first salaam. One should follow the authoritative position of his legal school.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
