Question:
Assalamualikum
Is it permissible to recite ayate karima while on haidh, with intention of dua / alleviating difficulties

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

In principle, it is not permissible for a menstruating woman to verbally recite the Qur’aan. However, if a verse is that of du’aa or tasbeeh, then she will be excused to recite it with that intention, not with the intention of tilaawah. Accordingly, in the enquired situation, she may recite the Ayah Kareemah, which is a dhikr and tasbeeh, with the intention of tasbeeh whilst on haydh.
