Question:
السلام عليكم
I have 2 questions from a sister who asked,
- If a baby is exclusively breastfed, is his/ her najasaat the same hukm as someone who is bottlefed, meaning it’s not paak?
- If a baby is colic and throws up uncontrollably, what should she do in terms of washing her clothes etc. ?
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
- Yes. The vomit, urine and feces of a child, male or female, are impure irrespective of the child’s source of nutrition. There is no difference between an exclusively breastfed child and a bottlefed child.
- May Allaah Ta’aala make it easy. You may wipe off the vomit with a wet wipe or tissue or wash the soiled portion. The entire garment does not have to washed. Likewise, it is not necessary to wash the soiled portion right away.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
