Question:
Salaam, will it be permissible to walk into the bathroom with a bag which includes Islamic materials which mention the name of Allah, such as the Qur’an, Hadith collections, etc? At times it’s not necessarily safe to leave the bag outside the bathroom when you’re out in public, what should we be advised to do?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Islamic materials and literatures must be honored and revered. If it is feasible and relatively possible to leave the bag outside or with someone, then that should be done. If that is not possible or feasible, then one will be excused to take it with him in the bathroom. One should ensure that he handles the bag with care.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
