Question:

salam alaikum i have bipolar which I take medicine for and when I take my medicine I am perfectly fine, just recently an opportunity became present to me to go to an arabic language school and then go to al azhar afterwards to study hanafi fiqh, my question is with bipolar is it ok for me to study islam and possible become an imam?

May Allaah Ta’aala grant you shifaa and make things easy for you. It is pleasing to note that an opportunity has come up. Take advantage of it. It is permissible and totally possible for you to study the Deen of Allaah Ta’aala despite your situation. Upon graduation, you may assess your situation and decide what would be appropriate for you in regards to job position. Make istikhaarah, consult with your well wishers and make a decision. Once you have made your decision, place your trust upon Allaah Ta’aala and seek His assistance.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
