Black magic and wazeefahs

Fatwaa ID: 2150

Question:

  1. Why is it that after reading so many Qurani Wazifas and giving Sadaqah by sacrificing animals with halal money to feed meat to poor people, issues such as black magic and other sicknesses do not go away?
  2. And is one of the reasons why some people who face issues in their life and why no wazifa works for them is because of the sins of their parents and are they being punished for it? If this is true then what should the children do to stop and remove the punishment of their parent’s sins from being passed on to them so that the Ibadat and wazifas can start working for the children so they can benefit from it?
  3. And is there any effective and special Sadaqah you can recommend to be cured from black magic and other health issues?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

While black magic is an unfortunate reality, just like the evil eye, one should not be quick to assume every problem in life to be an effect of that. There could be many other reasons for the problems. Problems or difficulties in life do not necessarily have to have an answer or reason. It is part of life. Life will have its ups and downs. Allaah Ta’aala sees through this who is grateful and patient. In the enquired situation, if a reputable and upright raaqi did not diagnose you or the patient in question with having been effected by black magic, then you should not entertain that thought. It is also important to remember that difficulties and trials in life do not necessarily mean that you are a sinful or evil person. Allaah Ta’aala often tests people that He loves with afflictions, thereby elevating their rank and bringing them closer to Him.

The answers to your queries are as follows:

  1. Everything is in the Hands of Allaah Ta’aala. The masnoon du’aas and recitations and the charities we give are only means we use to beseech Allaah Ta’aala. They themselves do not remove or repel difficulties or harms. Allaah Ta’aala does. If He wishes to continue afflicting a person, then that is up to Him. We at times take medications but they do not help. That is because shifaa and cure is solely in His control. We ought to persist and keep trying and leave the rest to Allaah Ta’aala. Trust His decision and wisdom. Make tawakkul upon Him. While it may be difficult, it will be of benefit to you in the greater picture.
  2. No person will be punished because of the sin of another person, including the parents. We would like to remind you again that wazeefahs do not benefit on their own. They only benefit when Allaah Ta’aala wants.
  3. Consult a competent medical professional. Consult a reputable Allaah-conscious raaqi. Continue reciting the masnoon recitations and du’aas of protection, such as Ayatul Kursi and the Quls. Continue giving charity for His sake. Send abundance of salawaat upon Nabi ﷺ. Live your life in accordance to his sunnah. Continue exercising patient and being grateful.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
