Black seed and its usage for benefits

Fatwaa ID: 2245

Asslamu alaikum WRWB MuftiSahab,
May Allah grant all your wishes in Ramdan!
I need to know where we can get information or do you know how to consume Kalaunji / Black cumin so that it will help us our body?
We know that it has limitless benefits Except Death, but the way , how, when and quantity of it we should consume we dont know…
JazakAllah Khair….!!

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Rasulullaah ﷺ said,

الحبة السوداء شفاء من كل داء إلا السام. أي الموت
“Black seed is a cure for all ailments except death.” [Bukhaari, Muslim]

Black seed (nigella sativa) indeed is a form of shifaa/cure for all sicknesses. However, the Shari’ah has left it to the doctors, homeopathic and aleopathic, to experiment and prescribe its usage and dosage for every sickness. The medical and health professionals, especially the Muslims, play an important role in this. From the earlier days, research has been ongoing and many books have been written. Contemporary profeso should continue researching and persuing this and other prophetic medicines.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
