Buying meat at Maghrib time

Fatwaa ID: 613

Question:
Asalaamualykum

Does buying meat from the butchers at maghrib time attract jinns?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

No. The above is not true. It is permissible without any reprehension to purchase meat at any time, including Maghrib time. It goes without being said that this must not delay a person from his salaah, in congregation specifically for men.
Jinns and evil may be attracted at any time. Hence, we are advised to keep ourselves protected at all times with the appropriate adhkaar and du’aas, such as du’aa when leaving the house, Ayatul Kursi, the Quls, etc.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
