Fatwaa ID: 1489

Question:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

There is a business in South Africa called Cash Crusaders, which buys and sells second hand goods. However, the company also gives loans/pawns.

If one is not involved in the loans part, would it be permissible to buy from or sell to them?
Or would the possibility of the item being pawned in exchange of unpaid loans deem it problematic?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

We take note of the details of your query. It is permissible to buy from and sell to the above business provided that there is nothing haraam or problematic in your transaction itself with them. You are not responsible for their other dealings.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
