Question:
Asalamu Alaikum

Is composte haraam to use, as far as I am aware it is a mixture of plants vegetables and kitchen scraps that are processed. These kitchen scrap and food waste is likely just from household wate which could be from haraam source. Is it haraam to use or najis to touch?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is permissible to use the above compost. The impurity would be an insignificant amount. If there is impurity in there, then the hands should be washed.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
