Cordyceps mushrooms

Question:
Assalamu alaikum.
Is cordyceps mushrooms allowed to consume as food or medicine?

Cordyceps mushrooms are parasitic fungi that include over 400 different species. They grow all over the world in countries like China, Japan, India, the United States, Australia, Peru, Bolivia, and many more. They typically infect insects and arthropods, with each species of Cordyceps infecting a very specific bug.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is permissible to consume cirdyceps mushrooms as food or medicine. They are pure foods. I was unable to find anything impermissible or problematic regarding them.
