Question:
A question was asked:

There is a saying that crying during maghrib time/evening time, rizq is decreased or it is cursed to do so at that time specifically.. Is this legitimate in Islam? I have my doubts.

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

There is no religious reprehension in crying at any certain time. Likewise, crying does not decrease rizq nor bring about any curse, irrespective of the time. These are superstitious baseless beliefs.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
