Did Rasulullaah (S) relieve himself?

Fatwaa ID: 442

Question:
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatahu,

Question: First of all I am sorry cause this might be a disturbing question. But wallahi I am trying to learn and I am not trying to disrespect RasulAllah (pbuh).

We know that everything from the body of RasulAllah (pbuh) is pure and blessed. Ive heard that one of the miracles of all Prophets (pbut) is that they don’t deficate or urinate or vomit like we do. Is that true?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Rasulullaah (S) was a human being. He had similar natural needs like every human being. Nabi (S) would relieve himself. It is also narrated that he vomited. These aspects are not contrary to him being pure and blessed. They do not in any way diminish his rank or status. These are natural things that come to every person.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
