Dream about deceased mother

Fatwaa ID: 2112

Question:
My mother died in my arms on 19th December not from any disease but weakness and age. Yesterday I saw a dream about entering a unknown old poor house where my mother was sick and weak like before death and laying on the floor. When I asked her why she is laying on floor with one sheet underneath she said I didn’t want to bother/disturb anyone. There was also a person standing there but I didn’t see his face. Then I come to a house under construction and said once this house is completed I’ll bring my mom here. I see a briefcase there full of beautiful clothes pieces but shortly snatched by my brother in law and his wife. Please tell me meaning of this dream in Islamic point of view.I’m very worried. I read quran daily for my mother. Jazakallah.

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

We take note of the details of query. May Allaah Ta’aala elevate the status of your mother in Jannah. May He grant you and the family sabr jameel.

Dreams do not necessarily always have meanings. Do not make the dream in question the focus of your attention. Likewise, do not in any way use this dream against your sister and brother in law. Dreams are not proofs for anything.

This dream may be a reminder to the fact that nothing and nobody of this temporal life will be of true benefit except the righteous deeds. There is no guarantee that one will be able to accomplish any goal or desire of this world. We have plans and hopes but death surpasses them often. One must work towards constructing his true abode in the Hereafter.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
