Dream about Snakes

Fatwaa ID: 725

Question:
Dream-

Before Fajr and continued after – read and blew on left but continued after going back to sleep after Fajr.

Husband and I were somewhere and I was lying down. Snakes on me and I was scared – husband has a phobia usually of even seeing pictures of snakes – but in the dream he told me it’s ok and just to relax it’s part of a massage or Physio treatment process. I couldn’t understand how he was calmly telling me this and was just making dua snake doesn’t bite and trusted his word. Very unnerving

Allah protect us

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

May Allaah Ta’aala protect you from all harms. Do not let the dream affect you or bother you.

Dreams are of the three types: the good ones from Allaah Ta’aala, the evil ones from Shaitaan and those which are expositions of one’s thoughts from throughout the day. If one sees a good dream, one should praise Allaah Ta’aala and pray that it comes to fruition. If one sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge from Allaah Ta’aala.

Do not make dreams the focus of your attention. Dreams are akin to a traveler. A traveler encounters various sceneries while traveling. However, he continues his journey and does not allow the scenery to stop him from traveling further and reaching his ultimate destination. Likewise, one should focus on the aims of one’s life and strive to achieve them.

Nevertheless, a possible meaning of your dream is that you and your husband will be protected from some incoming harm. But for this, you must understand that harm and benefit comes from Allaah Ta’aala alone. We turn to Him alone for protection. This dream should be a reminder and an encouragement for you to always be in the remembrance of Allaah Ta’aala and protect yourself and your loved ones through the masnoon means.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
