Dream regarding following Sayyiduna Ali (R)

Fatwaa ID: 2363

Question:
Asslamualaikun Sheikh, I have a question about dream. Several dreams of mine suggest that I should follow Hazrat Ali (R.A). My question is: how can I follow him?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is pleasing to note that you had such a wonderful dream. Sayyiduna ‘Ali (R) was indeed a close companion of Rasulullaah ﷺ. He was one of the first to accept Islam. He was a caliph of the Muslims. His virtues are beyond the scope of this fatwaa. To start off, we suggest that you read and learn about him. As you study his life, you would find that he was an ardent lover and follower of the sunnah of Rasulullaah ﷺ. You would be following him by living by the sunnah of Rasulullaah ﷺ.

You may study the following works:
-Forty Aḥādīth on the Virtues of the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs by this unworthy one

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
