Question:
Assalamualykum is there any specific dua to read before a surgery?
Also is there any specific dua to read after as well
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
There is no specific du’aa to be recited before or after a surgery. The general du’aas of shifaa and ease may be recited. One may also perform two rak’ahs before and after, thereby seeking assistance from Allaah Ta’aala.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.

One may recite the following:
-Invoking Allaah Ta’aala through His beautiful names As-Salaam and Ash-Shaafee has been proven to be beneficial and bring relief, comfort and peace to those in pain, anxiety, distress, etc. Allaah Ta’aala is As-Salaam, the Giver of peace. He is Ash-Shaafee, the Giver of cure.
-Recite Surah Al-Faatihah.
-Recite Surah Yaaseen.
-Recite the following du’aas:
“I ask Allaah who is the Lofty and the Lord of the Mighty Throne that He cures him.”
“O Allaah! Lord of mankind! Remove this disease and cure (me)! You are the Great Curer. There is no cure but through You, which leaves behind no disease.”
“In the name of Allaah, I seek refuge in Allaah’s might and power from the evil of what you see experiencing and trying to avert.”
This should be repeated seven times.
-Giving sadaqah is also very beneficial.
-Likewise, sending salawaat upon Nabi (S) is essential.
