Du’aa to ward off evil eye, jealousy, and enmity; life

Fatwaa ID: 052

Assalamu alaikum, Respected Mufti Sahab,  I want to know if there is any dua to ward off evil eye, jealousy,  and enmity. I worked in a school as an accountant and  there were people and colleagues who were my enemy and were jealous of me. My colleague being a female was always trying to belittle me in front of Principal and Trustees. No matter how hard I work and try to do my work with honesty and sincerity, I get no credit. The work I do is not known to trustees as they are busy in there other business  and work outside and so my work is not known to them. And taking this advantage that no trustees are present to see my hard work she poisons the ears of trustees and principal against me. Most of the work of her and others is done by me and at the end she tells the trustees that the work is done and takes the credit. The principal and trustees also believes her as she is a lady and talks sweet but they do not kno w the inside story of hers and the plan behind the sweet and tall talks. Sometime I get angry and frustrated and in that situation I tell absurd things which once offended others and Principal , and then this situation was again the golden opportunity for her to coax and poison the principal about me. She also manipulated the darwans and buas (lady workers who does mopping etc). I knew this and when I told the principal about this she instead of believing me just did the opposite  and thinks that I am the one who is manipulating the buas and darwans etc. The Principal was not like this before but she (so called Administrator) which she is not capable of invoked and told her all lies that I told her this and this against the Principal and told me slyly that what I hear from Principal is not correct. So basically she is playing  games at both sides. But Alhumdulillah Allah made me aware and she understood and stopped telling me anything  as she knew that I won’t b elieve her. She is very clever and a great lier. She wants to be bossy over me, but I understood her ploy and said in front of the Trustee that I have not come to work under anyone but to work together.  She does not do her work properly and makes mistakes etc  and she is taking the Trustees and the Principal on a ride.

Now from a few months the things got changed as we are not getting enough admission and one of the Trustees told in front of me and the Principal and her that if anything short occurs in my work (a/c  and other work) he will ask me and if anything goes wrong in the academics and admission he will ask the Principal and the administrator the reason. Now as we are not getting good response for admission she was in a fix. So she again poisoned the Principal that trustee will ask question and true enough the trustees took books and syllabus etc to get it verified whether it is running on good track or not. So now the Principal also fearing that she has to answer  and will be in stake so she started supporting her in whatever she says. The administrator fears that her job will be at stake because of me as I point out her weakness and so now she wants me to get chucked out, so that she can be bossy over everyone else but in reality not capable of it and has no knowledge and exp erience of administrator or any other post . I told the trustees about this trick and politics but to no use. They did not believe me. Now after 1 year I told the trustees to increase my salary as most of the work is done by me. (inside and outside both). The others who are not doing so much work are getting paid well and so I have to low my  head in shame in front of them, that inspite of hard work and doing with honest I am not paid well. So the just increased a little (rs 500/-). I was not happly with that so I have left my job. Its been one month I am  jobless  till now. Though I am applying to different places but no response is coming from anywhere.

In the previous company  also where I worked as an accountant  something similar happened with manager and I left that job also and after that I got the next job nearly after one year. I am 35 years of age and not settled. I want to get married too but I am not getting a good job with a stable and good salary and satisfying job. Sometimes the salary is not good, sometimes the timing is not suitable, sometimes the colleagues or superior plays tricks with me etc etc so for this reason or the other I have kept quitting my job for the past 6 to 7 years of more for some reason or the other and I told my mother and family members also that this kind of harassments is going on and I cannot work honestly  as people are the back of me, but my mother says that so many people are working and only you are getting this kind of problem, it is your fault. So in this way I am  not settled up till now. My mother is also very worried as what is happening. What is the problem, wh at should I do. I do not want to earn haram money nor I want to leave my namaz.

Is there any dua that I can recite for my job and make my enemy helpless  and can be safe. Though I read Manzil nearly daily. I read surah Yassen.  I do zikr, pray namaz daily Alhumdulillah. I am keeping a full length beard, stopped watching movies, stopped wearing pants below ankle, stopped  listening to music, I try not to tell lies, try to follow sunnt in most of the daily chores etc but then also I am in problem. And I see others who are not doing all this but still happy and have a good earning  etc.

2. I am reading the said dua’s : a) Allahhumm makfini be halalika an harameka wa ag nini be fadhlike amman siwaka. After farz salat and after other salat also.

 b) Wamai Yattakillah yaj allahu makhrajaun, wa yar zukho min haiso la yah tasib. (Para 28).  Reciting it 300 times nearly daily after asar salat and also other times of the day.

C) Reciting Astagfirullaha rabbi min kulli zambiew wa atubu elaihe,  more that 300 times daily.

D) Reciting Darud Sharif atleast 100 times daily.

What else can I do. Please help with your suggestion and please pray for me for halal rozi with aafiyat and a good spouse for marriage.

 Jazzak Allah!

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Brother in Islaam,

We take note of the contents of your query. We sympathize with you and pray that Allaah Ta’aala grants you a halaal blissful life with ‘aafiyah.

Regard the present condition as a test of your Imaan. At times, Allaah Ta’aala tests his beloved servants to bring them close to Him and elevate them in ranks.

We advise you to recite Ayatul Kursi [2:255], Surah Al-Falaq (113)[1] and Surah An-Naas (114)[2] after every fardh salaah to protect yourself from evil eye, jealousy, enmity, etc.

You may continue reciting Surah Yaseen and Surah Al-Waaqi’ah along with your daily zikr, istighfaar and durood.

Also reflect upon the following verses of the Noble Qur’aan:

وَاصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translation: And have patience, for verily Allaah will not let the reward of the righteous go in vain. (Surah Hud v.115)

إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا

Translation: Indeed, difficulty is followed up with ease. (Surah Ash-Sharh v.6)

We also advise in your future job that you identify a trustworthy person who could observe you and how you work. If you are doing anything wrong, he would advise you.

Remember, a successful career is a marriage between devotion and diplomacy. If one is not a devoted worker, he has no career. If one is a devoted worker but lacks diplomacy, his career may not be successful.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
