Earring during ghusl

Fatwaa ID: 1906

Do I Have to Remove My Earrings to Perform ghusul e janabat?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is not necessary to remove one’s earrings when performing ghusl. However, it is necessary to ensure that water reaches the peircing. One may have to move around the earring to ensure that water has reached adequately. If the earring is very tight and does not allow for water to reach, then it will have to be removed.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
