Fidyah for missed Sajdah Tilaawah

Fatwaa ID: 2136

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Whats is the fidya for the one who passes away before making up his missed sajdah tilawats

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Sajdah Tilaawah is waajib according to the Hanafi legal school. Every effort should be made to perform them. It should not be delayed. If a person however passes away prior to making his outstanding Sajdah Tilaawahs, then there is no fidyah for them.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
