Question:
السلام علیکم .
Maaf mufti Saheb,
If a person intending to go for umrah, read asr and forgot to read the ihraam salah before asr …can they read the ihraam salah after asr?
For maghrib salah they will be on the flight

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is sunnah to perform two rak’ahs of ihraam before entering into the state of ihraam. It is makrooh to enter without having performed it. If one forgets, then he should make istighfaar.
In the enquired situation, if you hadn’t merely put on the clothes but did not enter the state yet, then you may perform it on the plane after Maghrib and then intend entering the state of ihraam. If you have already entered the state of ihraam, then make istighfaar for missing a sunnah.
