Fruits grown in the roads

Question:
Assalam u alaikum wrwb

Are you allowed to pick and eat the fruits that is grown in wild?

In the summer seasons, there are plenty of berries on the sides of the roads which does not belong to anyone.
Are we allowed to eat them?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

  1. It is permissible to eat fruits that grow in the wild which are not owned by anyone. If it is privately owned, then that will not be permissible unless permission is granted.
  2. The berries that grow on public roads during the summer seasons are not owned by anyone. It is permissible to eat them.
