Ghusl without intention and haydh

Fatwaa ID: 2144

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
أتمنى أنت بخير بالصحة والعافية
If a woman takes ghusl without the niyyah of fard ghusl and she doesnt spot any bleeding after that will and she offers her prayer then will it be accepted?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

According to the Hanafi legal school, niyyah is not a prerequisite for the validity of ghusl. Accordingly, if the haydh had stopped before the ghusl, then the ghusl performed without any intention would be valid. However, she would be deprived of the rewards of that ghusl. She may offer her salaahs and engage in other ‘ibaadaat with that ghusl. This ruling would not be applicable to the other legal schools as intention is a prerequisite according to them.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
