Question:
Assalamu alaykum.

If a person goes to the salon to trim their hair, must they bring the trimmed hair home and bury it or can they leave it behind at the salon to be thrown? What are the rulings?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Unwanted or removed hair should ideally be buried. If that is not feasible, then one may dispose it as convenient. In the enquired situation, if you are able to bring the hair back and bury it without unnecessary inconvenience, then you should do so. If it is difficult, then you may leave it at the barber and have them dispose it.
