Question:
Assalamualaikum, one question:

Regarding the Attributes of Allah. Does he have a Hand? A Face? If so, in what sense? For example, just before Yawm-ul-Qiyamah will happen, everything but his Blessed Face will destroyed. What about His Hands, etc.?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The issues in question are from the mutashaabihaat. Allaah Ta’aala alone knows the true meanings of them. Delving into them is a sign of deviation in the heart. We attribute, establish and believe for Allaah Ta’aala what He has attributed to Himself, as befitting to His Majesty, without going into details or explanations. At times, a suitable implication is suggested for ease in understanding. For instance, the example that you have enquired about would refer to the being of Allaah Ta’aala, i.e., everything will be destroyed except Allaah Ta’aala.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
