Question:
Assalamualykum mufti saheb. A lady asking if using an handsfree breastfeed pump is allowed during Salaah.

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

When performing salaah, a person ought to stand with full devotion and focus. He is having an intimate conversation with Allaah Ta’aala and he must give his undivided attention. Using a hands-free breast pump while praying will be contrary to that. There will be no focus in salaah. Accordingly, it must be avoided.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
