Haraam job

Fatwaa ID: 2300

You’ve answered a question That it is Harram to work in a place dealing with NOT halal chicken to continue working until they find a different job! They need to stop doing the Harram 1st then look for new job.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is not clear from your message whether you are asking a question or making a statement. Nevertheless, we appreciate that you reached out to us. Allaah Ta’aala bless you. Perhaps you are seeking clarification regarding fatwaa #1597.

Understand that a fatwaa is unique to the question posed. A mufti applies his due diligence and provides a verdict in consideration of the scenario as well as its consequences. A fatwaa may not be applicable as a general rule or even to similar scenarios.

In the enquired situation, fatwaa may be issued upon the position of Imaam Abu Haneefah (R) due to their situation and condition. They are immigrants who have just moved to a country and they have expressed financial difficulties. It is not easy to find a job for citizens, let alone immigrants. Asking them to leave their current job immediately, a job which in itself is not a direct assistance of sin and is a lesser evil than others, would not be practical and would result in further financial difficulties. Keeping them moving on their feet without having to turn to others is an essential consideration. They were thus reminded that this job is not conducive and they should therefore actively search for an alternative job that is suitable. Istighfaar should be made for the current job.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
