Haraam makeup

Fatwaa ID: 1704

اَلسّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللّه وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ

Most makeup products are not halaal
If a person makes wudhu and then uses them, will her wudhu break ?! What about salaah with these ?!

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

In principle, the usage of haram or najis items is prohibited even if externally. When the Shari’ah deems something haraam or najis, it is for our own benefit. If a makeup product contains impure or haraam ingredients, then it is not permissible to use such products. The validity of the salaah may be affected as well because of it.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
