Haydh and 15°/18° Fajr and ‘Ishaa

Fatwaa ID: 1413

As-salāmu ʿalaykum Waraḥmatullāhi Wabarakātuh,

If someone’s haydh habit is 10 days exactly and her ghusl time falls between the 18° and 15° fajr timings, will she have to pray Esha Ṣalāh?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The scholars have legitimately differed in regards to whether 18° should be adopted for the commencement of the salaah times or 15°. There are other positions besides these two as well. One should adopt the position of his local competent scholar or local community. In the enquired situation, she will follow the position that she regularly follows. However, out of precaution, it will be advisable to perform the ‘Ishaa and Fajr Salaah considering the safer position.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
