Heel fissures and wudhu

Fatwaa ID: 1957

If someone has heel fissures and they make wudhu but small white lines still remain, do they have to rub it with water and make sure the whiteness goes away or as long as water has reached there, it’s enough?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

In principle, for the validity of the wudhu, every part of the wudhu limbs have to be washed thoroughly. The Ahaadith emphasize that due care be applied when washing the feet. One should rub the heels and ensure that every part, including the cracked portions, are wet. White lines generally indicate that water has not reached there. Accordingly, you should rub that portion when making wudhu.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
