‘Ibaadah during prohibited times

Fatwaa ID: 670

Assalaamu ‘Alaikum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakaatuh

Can we do zikr, make dua, read Quran etc during the prohibited times of prayer, like during the first 15 minutes of sunrise after Fajr, zenith/zawaal time 10/15 minutes before Zuhr, and 20 minutes to half an hour before Maghrib.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Aside from salaah, and this includes Janaazah Salaah and Sajdah Tilaawah, one may engage in all other forms of ‘ibaadah during prohibited times. This includes making dhikr, making du’aa and reciting Qur’aan.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
