Inheritance query

Fatwaa ID: 1422

Question:
Asalamualaikum
Respected Mufti Saab

I am inquiring about who inherits and how much shares per person in the following situation.

A deceased left behind
A wife (no children)
Parents
2 brothers
One sister

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

May Allaah Ta’aala shower upon the deceased with his infinite mercy and grace and elevate his status in Jannah. May He grant the family sabr jameel.

We have been advised that the deceased is survived by his wife, his father, his mother, two brothers and one sister. Accordingly, after funeral expenses, debts and bequests, the estate, which is inclusive of ALL of the deceased’s belongings irrespective of how insignificant such as clothing, beauty and hygiene products, etc., will be divided into 4 shares as follows:

-The wife will receive 1 share (25%).
-The father will receive 2 shares (50%).
-The mother will receive 1 share (25%).
-The two brothers and one sister will not receive any shares.

Disclaimer: The above calculations are based on the information provided. If there are other heirs, then the above may not be applicable.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
