Question:
Why can’t we say inshallah to a Duaa
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
When making du’aa, one should be confident, certain and hopeful that his du’aa will be accepted. Saying “inShaaAllaah” is contrary to that. Rasulullaah ﷺ has advised us against doing this as well.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ “ لاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، ارْحَمْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، ارْزُقْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، وَلْيَعْزِمْ مَسْأَلَتَهُ، إِنَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ، لاَ مُكْرِهَ لَهُ

ﻭﻣﻦ ﺷﺮﻭﻁ اﻹﺟﺎﺑﺔ: ﺇﺧﻼﺹ اﻟﻨﻴﺔ. ﻭﻣﻨﻬﺎ: ﺃﻥ ﻻ ﻳﺴﺘﻌﺠﻞ اﻹﺟﺎﺑﺔ ﻟﺤﺪﻳﺚ: “ﻳﺴﺘﺠﺎﺏ ﻷﺣﺪﻛﻢ ﻣﺎ ﻟﻢ ﻳﻘﻞ ﺩﻋﻮﺕ ﻓﻠﻢ ﻳﺴﺘﺠﺐ ﻟﻲ”, ﻭﺣﻀﻮﺭ اﻟﻘﻠﺐ ﻭﺃﻥ ﻻ ﻳﺪﻋﻮ ﺑﻤﺤﺮﻡ, ﻭﻣﻨﻬﺎ: ﻃﻴﺐ اﻟﻤﻄﻌﻢ ﻭاﻟﻤﺸﺮﺏ ﻭاﻟﻤﻠﺒﺲ ﻭﺃﻥ ﻳﻮﻗﻦ اﻹﺟﺎﺑﺔ ﻭﺃﻥ ﻻ ﻳﻌﻠﻖ ﺑﺎﻝﻣﺸﻴﺌﺔ, ﻭﻓﻲ ﺷﺮﺡ اﻷﺭﺑﻌﻴﻦ اﻟﻨﻮﻭﻳﺔ ﻟﻠﺸﺮﺧﻴﺘﻲ ﺃﻥ ﻣﻦ اﻟﺘﻌﻠﻴﻖ ﻗﻮﻟﻪ: “اﻟﻠﻬﻢ ﻋﺎﻣﻠﻨﺎ ﺑﻤﺎ ﺃﻧﺖ ﺃﻫﻠﻪ ﻛﺄﻧﻪ -ﻭاﻟﻠﻪ ﺗﻌﺎﻟﻰ ﺃﻋﻠﻢ- ﻳﻘﻮﻝ: “ﺇﻥ ﻋﺎﻣﻠﺘﻨﺎ ﺑﻤﺎ ﺃﻧﺖ ﺃﻫﻠﻪ, ﻭﻣﻨﻬﺎ ﺃﻥ ﻻ ﻳﺪﻋﻮ ﺑﻤﺴﺘﺤﻴﻞ.
