There is an interfaith fair at our university where students are invited to share information about their religious traditions and some of the Muslim students were invited to participate in this fair. Is it permissible for a student to go to such an event to share information about Islam? If so, how should one go about doing this?
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
It is permissible for Muslim students who are well grounded in their own faith to participate and use this opportunity to present the true image of Islam to the non-Muslim students. This is a great opportunity for da’wah. You may present the basic beliefs of Islam and also clarifications of common misconceptions. Introduce them to Nabi ﷺ and his sublime teachings.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
