Question:
Assalamualaikum,
Assalamualaikum,
My question is if one has missed thousands of salats out of laziness and knowingly of course he has to make them up but can he still be forgiven without ever touching the fire or jahannam iA if his crying taubah is sincere or now is the jahannam valley of lam lam wajib to burn ❤️🔥 him?
If he going forwards never misses a Salat out of laziness and intentionally ever again because he made that intention with sincere intention regrets for the major sin and sincere Taubah
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Whether a person will be punished in the Hereafter or not for his actions is solely up to the discretion of Allaah Ta’aala. We cannot comment on that. Should He wish to punish a person or forgive him, with or without tawbah, that is His prerogative.
Our job is to make sincere tawbah and istighfaar and make changes to our lives. We maintain a balance between khawf/fear and rajaa/hope. We have complete faith and hope that Allaah Ta’aala will overlook our shortcomings, yet we believe He can take us to account for them. He is al-Ghafoor and ar-Raheem and He is also al-Muntaqim and al-Jabbaar. One should not become so afraid that he becomes depressed nor so lax that he becomes bold. Moderation is key in the life of a believer.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
