Is this marriage service sharia’ compliant?

Fatwaa ID: 2095

As-Salam Alaykum, another brother and I are starting a marriage service Insha’Allah. We don’t have any sisters that are interested in helping us run it. We created the following setup to try to make it halal as possible.

The person fills out a form and answers questions regarding his or her first name and last initial, email, a brief summary of their education, occupation, height, weight, if they wear niqab/hijab, basic background information and what they’re searching for in a spouse.

We would post their profile on an Instagram page, and interested brothers or sisters fill out a form saying which person they are interested in and attach their own profile. We then forward the profiles of that person to the person they are interested in. If the person approves and would like to speak to them for marriage, we have the sister fill out a form with their wali’s information attached, we will verify the wali is a real person, then forward the information to the brother and have him contact the wali.

Is this all Sharia’ compliant, considering we may briefly send an email to a sister solely regarding another brother’s interest in her/her interest in another brother? JzkAllah khayran.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

May Allaah Ta’aala reward you abundantly for being concerned about the well-being of the Ummah. We take note of the details of your query. The above service is permissible. When you do email the sister briefly, ensure that you remain formal and professional.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
