Question:
السلام عليكم
When one is performing janaazah Salaah of an adult and child, does he read the adult dua and child dua or just adult dua?
And what about if there’s only a child , you don’t if it’s a boy or girl?
What if there is a boy and a girl , which do you read ?
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
- He should make du’aa for both. The du’aas for the adults should be recited first and then the ones for the child.
- The male forms are inclusive of the females. You may recite the du’aa with the male pronouns.
- Use the dual pronoun (هما) instead of the singular male or female pronouns.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
