Question:
aslam o alikum. If I kill an insect like an ant or cockroach or any sort of bug with my hands. Will my hands become impure and do I have to wash my hands off?

Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

Insects do not have flowing blood or other impure substances in their body. Hence, killing an insect with one’s hand will not render it impure. However, it is hygienic to wash one’s hand thereafter.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
