Question:
Assalam o Alaikum
What are the Islamic rulings on consumption of
- Lab grown meat
- Plant based meat
Example of plant based meat are impossible burger or beyond meat products and available widely on fast food restaurants which does not serve halal. They claim it is 100% vegetarian ingredients
Lab grown meat is new development and not commonly available yet however manufacturers have received regulatory approval for mass production

- Plant based meat contains no meat. It is produced from plants. It is permissible to consume this. Cross contamination must be considered when opting for this.
