Local calendar or Google

Fatwaa ID: 872

Assalāmuʿalykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh
A person overslept and try to catch his fajr salaah before the time ends. On google time for sunrise was 7:23 am so he finishes it exactly at 7: 23 but when he checked the local mosque prayer time it was showing 7:21 am. Is his salaah valid or he has to repeat it?
Jazak Allah khairan katheeran

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

With regards to sunrise and sunset times, Google will perhaps be more reliable than most local calendars. In the enquired situation, your salaah was valid.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
