Asalamualaikum if one missed fajr, does he have to do qadha of the sunnah of fajr? If so, shall he do iqamah before the sunnah or after the it?
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
- Qadhaa salaah should be performed as soon as possible. Death will come unannounced. It should not be such that one meets Allaah Ta’aala with outstanding salaahs. Sincere tawbah and istighfaar must be made along with the qadhaa.
If one is a Saahib Tarteeb, then according to the Hanafi legal school the qadha must be performed first before the next salaah.
- There is no qadhaa of sunnah salaahs. However, the only exclusion to this is if one is making qadhaa of Fajr Salaah of that day before midday/zawaal. If qadhaa is made after that or on another day, then there is no qadhaa of the sunnah.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
