Missed fardh in wudhu

Fatwaa ID: 683

If a fard was missed out in wudhu ( eg masah of the head ) and I remembered before the one if the parts are dried up. Can i go back and wash the part i missed eg ( masah of the head )

Also would i count if i still had wet arms and wiped it over my head? ( would my wuhdu be done.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

  1. Yes. You may go back and wash the missed portion as long as you did not do anything in the interim that breaks the wudhu. This is applicable even if the other parts have dried up.
  2. That is permissible according to the Hanafi legal school as you do not require new water for wiping the head. Your wudhu will be complete.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
