السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Someone is asking if they can make intention of sadaqah when paying fees for an islamic course they are attending.
To clarify: can one make the intention of sadaqah when paying for themselves to gain ilm?
Jazakumullahu khayran
Answer:
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
The money one spends to acquire the sacred knowledge of Deen, including fees, textbooks, personal expenses, etc., are all counted as spending in the path of Allaah Ta’aala. The rewards of this are tremendous. One should not shy away or feel that he is losing money. The rewards and the fruits of each and every cent will definitely be seen. The salaf at times would spend great amounts to acquire a single Hadith.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
