InshAallah, in the Mubarak Month of Ramadan ,We have planed to recite the Holy Quraan daily where our sisters could follow the recitation from the Noble Quraan. We wish to complete the Khataam on the 27th of day . This can help to improve recitation and will also allow us to practically revise the Tajweed rules InshAallah.

In the light of the blessed practice, I would like to make personel invitation to you to partake in the blessed Sunnah of Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) referred to as MUQABALAH.

According to the hadith of Rasoolullah (SAW), Jibraeel (as) would come to Nabî (SAW) during Ramadan Shareef and recite the entire Holy Quraan to the Prophet of Allah (SAW) and He (SAW) would recite it to Jibraeel (as).

Nabi (SAW) states: “Whoever revives my sunnah, he shall be rewarded with 100 martyr (shaheed) sawaabs.”

Please let’s get together not miss out this opportunity to be blessed with the sawaab of 100 shaheeds for reviving this beautiful sunnah of Rasoolullah (SAW) inshaAllah.

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

-I don’t know where the term muqabalah came from. The claim above that it is a sunnah is not established.

-It is true that Jibreel (A) would come and recite a rendition of the Qur’aan with Nabi ﷺ. This was known as ‘ardhah (عرضة). In the last Ramadhan of Nabi ﷺ, there were two renditions.

-This was not a practice or a sunnah Nabi ﷺ did with the Sahaabah (R). One should not be quick to label everything as “sunnah”.

-The Hadith quoted regarding the virtue of reviving a sunnah is very weak and not suitable for quoting. There is another Hadith which suggests the reward of one martyr.

-It is permissible to join the above khatmah by listening to someone recite. However, it is more rewarding to recite by oneself. If one will not reciting at that time and wishes to spend his time in some ‘ibaadah, then this may be a suitable thing.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
