does listening to music or like watchint movies break the state of ihram
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
In principle, listening to music and watching movies is haraam in the state of ihraam and out of it. However, the intensity and the level of the sin increases based on the place and state one is in. While it will not break the state of ihraam, only a depraved person can engage in such filth while in the blessed lands.
Not everyone is fortunate to be invited to the blessed lands despite their sincere yearnings. If one is invited, then he should take advantage of that and show his appreciation. He should value the opportunity and make the best out of it. He should refrain from all forms of sins and futile activities. If he has nothing better to do, let him sit or rest in the Haram. If one does not appreciate the favors of Allaah Ta’aala upon him, then he will surely be deprived.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
