As Salamu alykum
Respected mufti saheb
Hope you well
My cousin is contemplating to keep her sons name “Hamdaan”
Kindly enlighten on whether its a good name and the correct spelling.
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Hamdan refers to someone who is always praising Allaah Ta’aala, content with what Allaah Ta’aala has given him and he is praiseworthy in the eyes of people. It is a suitable name. The spelling can be Hamdan or Hamdaan.
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
