Assalaamu alaikum is this correct? Quran mentions jibreel as in 3 places. Where is JIbraeel as mentioned?
I want to know where JibrAeel is found
In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
The name Jibreel has many variants in the Arabic language as well as in the Qira’at of the Qur’aan. It comes in three places in the Qur’aan: twice in al-Baqarah and once in at-Tahreem. However, despite so many ways and options, the famous pronunciation “Jibraaeel جِبرَائيل” interestingly does not exist.
The following ways are linguistically established and correct. The first four are also established as mutawaatir Qira’at.
- Jibreel جِبرِيل
- Jabreel جَبرِيل
- Jabrail جَبرَئل
- Jabraeel جَبرَئيل
- Jabraail جَبرَائل
- Jabraill جَبرَئلَّ
- Jabraaeel جَبرَائيل
- Jibraal جِبرَال
- Jibraayil جِبرَايل
- Jabraayeel جَبرَاييل
- Jabreen جَبرِين
- Jibreen جِبرِين
- Jibraaeen جِبرَائين
And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
