Nazar amulet 🧿

Fatwaa ID: 1283

السّلام عَلَيْكُمُ ورحمة الله وبركاته
Can we use 🧿these symbol bracelets without believing that provide any protection?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is haraam and shirk to wear the Nazar amulet or pendant. It is believed by the ignorami that it will ward off the evil eye. That is a baseless belief. Such talismans do not protect nor have any power. Protection is from Allaah Ta’aala alone. To seek protection from anyone or anything besides Him is shirk. The prohibition is applicable as well to the one who wears it without any belief.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best.
